Paramedic / 救急救命士(きゅうきゅうきゅうめいし):Robots are better where there is danger. 危険な場所では、ロボットがやるほうが良い。 Caregiver for the elderly poeple / 老人ホームのヘルパー:The elderly people would feel better when humans take care of them, rather than robots. お年寄りは、人間にお世話してもらったほうが気持ちが良いだろう。 Teacher / 教師(きょうし):Human teachers understand students better than roboths. 生徒のことを理解するのは、教師のほうが上手。 Engineer / エンジニア:Humans may fail, but they can overcome the failure. 失敗しても、やり直すことができる。 Architect / 建築士(けんちくし):Humans are better at realizing imagination. 人間のほうが想像を形にするのが得意。 Product designer / プロダクトデザイナー:Humans are better at creating something new. 人間のほうが新しいものを生み出すのが得意。 Brewer / 醸造所(じょうぞうじょ=お酒を作る会社):Food and beverage taste better when humans make them. 人間が作った食べ物や飲み物のほうがおいしい。 Japanese traditional dance performer / 日本舞踊家(にほんぶようか):Anything that a robot does cannot be cultural. Robots just move as programmed. Also, we want to feel passion. May 11th, 2019 We had an international joint SOLE session with a middle school in Canada. The students in Canada joined from their homes. During the investigation part, we made two groups and each group was assigned to a "break out room" and collaborated.

February 25th, 2019 Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) sent “Hayabusa2” to the asteroid Ryugu, and it just landed on its surface on February 22nd, 2019. Seven students from three schools in Gifu, Kyoto and Sagamihara collaborated to investigate the Big Question.

January 21st, 2019 It was the first session in 2019, so we thought "New Year Resolutions" would be nice to talk about. 5 students from three schools in Gifu, Kyoto and Sagamihara attended. Take a look at the slide. See #3, "They don't learn from failure." Ouch!

December 3rd, 2018 Our collaboration with the schools implementing SOLE in foreign countries has began. SOLE Colombia provided us with a video of a student presenting a Big Question in Spanish, with English subtitle. Eight students from three schools in Gifu, Kyoto and Sagamihara participated. We have been using Google Slides to make presentations.

Hi everyone. We are SOLE Sagamihara from Japan. In the summer of 2018, we learned about Scratch, a programming platform available for free on the internet. We enjoyed creating some games, and each of us did a short presentation in English at the end.
